It’s still chilly here (argh) but I am determined not to let the cold temperatures deter me from dreaming of Spring 🙂 As I’ve been making a few seasonal updates, I thought I’d pop in to share some of what I’ve been doing to spruce things up. In today’s post, I’m showing you 3 quick Spring decor ideas to do at home. With just a few tweaks you’ll be ready to welcome the season in no time 🙂

Quick Spring Decor Idea #1: GREENERY or FLOWERS
Nothing says ‘Spring’ quite like flowers. Fresh or faux, adding a few hits of colour is an easy way to brighten your home and freshen your space.
Just a sprinkle is enough to create a gorgeous vignette.
(For more tips on incorporating floral decor check out these 5 Fresh & Creative Ways To Integrate Flowers In Your Home).
Greenery, too, is a great way to add a breath of fresh air into your home. Adding a potted plant (faux or natural) or simply tucking a few stems into a vase is all you need to inject the season into your home.

Quick Spring Decor Idea #2: PILLOWS & THROWS
As all my regular readers know, I’m a big fan of pillows and throws! I’m a firm believer in the impact that adding in or swapping out these accessories can have in your space. Whether you like bright colours or muted tones, changing out these textiles helps signal to you and your family that Spring is at hand!
(To see how to make this sweet, Boho-style striped pillow, see How To DIY A Woven Pillow).
Quick Spring Decor Idea #3: CANDLES & SPRAY SCENTS
Another easy way to transition into Spring is by using scents that remind you of the season. Whether you use a scented candle, air freshener, or a linen spray, pick a refreshing scent to welcome Spring.
When it comes to air fresheners, in particular, most of us have our favourites that we turn to again and again. And, sometimes, we like to try something new. My current crush is the Farmhouse Linen & Room Spray pictured below. I came across it at a small, Parisian-inspired gift shop when I was out with hubby on our summer vacation last year. I still have the same bottle and I absolutely love it! We often spray it on our pillows before going to bed 🙂
You can find it on Amazon here: Farmhouse Line & Room Spray with Lavendar Essential Oil.
FINAL TIPS: How To Coordinate Your Quick Spring Decor Ideas For Maximum Impact
Start With A Blank Slate: Clear your coffee table, mantel, buffet, and any surface you’d like to decorate. It’s far easier to visualize when you’ve removed your winter items. Now you’re ready to add a few, subtle hits of seasonal decor.
Keep It Simple: Add small details to your existing decor. Greenery & florals, pillows & throws, candles & other scents – these are all items that most of us already keep on hand. When it’s time, simply make a few small tweaks to spruce up your space.
Colour Coordinate: When transitioning into any new style or decor theme, repeating 2-3 colours throughout your space will create cohesion. For example, I chose green and blush as my primary colours to transition into Spring. But even if you have an eclectic taste, colour repetition will create visual harmony and pull everything together.
Once these 3 quick Spring decor ideas have been added to your home, the rest of your transition into Spring will come naturally!

Try not to get too hung up on creating the perfect space. Decorating should be fun. It’s transitory and ever-changing, so take some risks, experiment and enjoy the process 🙂
Happy Decorating 🙂

March 26, 2018 at 11:48 amI totally agree with you Nicki. Sometimes, I just feel like less is more, particularly during the Spring. I just feel like removing all those winter layers and allowing simple beauty and simple touches to do all the ‘talking’ 🙂

March 26, 2018 at 2:59 pmFlowers and greens add such a lovely vibe to the decor, I can’t get enough of it this time of year until Fall basically! And pillows, I am a big pillow swapper, almost weekly! I love your idea of using linen sprays around the house, will go find one I love! The one you’re using must smell amazing!

April 11, 2018 at 6:29 amLinen sprays are my “new” favourite thing to use. I find having a few on hand really makes a difference, especially if they’ve got essential oils and other natural scents which are great mood enhancers. Just perfect to lift us up after a dark, dreary winter 🙂

March 26, 2018 at 7:38 pmNothing puts a smile on my face than some greenery in the house. It instantly transforms the space and makes me calm. Now if only I could do something about that brown thumb. But thank goodness for beautiful faux plants Jelica!

April 11, 2018 at 6:30 amI feel the same way about faux plants, Mary. My husband is the one who has a green thumb, so I often like to rely on synthetic greenery to freshen up a space. There are so many now that look so real and I absolutely love it!

March 27, 2018 at 10:30 amOh dear Jelica, it really does sound like Spring is taking her sweet time to arrive on your side of the world. Our leaves have started changing down here in the South so hopefully she’ll be there real soon. Love the ideas you shared. I’m going to be using quite a few of them when Winter comes knocking

April 11, 2018 at 6:33 amYes, it certainly is taking her sweet time. I would so love to wait it out in your neck of the woods, Michelle! I never been to South Africa, but hope to visit one day. In the meantime, I will continue to create and make as if Spring has fully sprung!

April 5, 2018 at 10:29 pmJelica, all your tips are so practical, and your spaces are restful looking. I love that throw on your sofa with the big tassels! Your white decor so clean and attractive. Makes me wish my treasures & junk wasn’t spread from here to yon. I used to have a clutter-free home. Sigh. No more.
