Hi Everyone! Today I am popping in to give you a peek into 6 ways that I’ve decorated with ornaments in my home for Christmas this year. It seems with every passing year, I purchase at least a few Christmas ornaments during boxing week (okay, sometimes it’s been entire ornament collections ;) ). And while I always have my tree in mind when I make these purchases, I’m quickly discovering that I am accumulating more ornaments than my Christmas tree can actually hold (and this doesn’t include some of the handmade ornaments that I’ve been making recently).
(For two easy-peasy 10-minute ornament craft ideas, check out these Nordic-inspired, DIY Wood Bead Christmas Ornaments and this DIY Embroidery Hoop Ornament).
If you – like me – are collecting ornaments like they’re going out of style, then why not maximize their value in your home by displaying them in crafty and creative ways? Here are just 6 simple and elegant ways that you can display ornaments in your home:
1. Add Just One To Create An Elegant Vignette
2. Corral Them In A Tray
3. Hang Them On A Garland
(To see how to make this ombre yarn garland, see the step-step tutorial here)
4. Group Them In Cubbies or Shelves
(These particular pics are from last year’s Christmas home tour. To see more, click here)
5. Hang Them On A Decorative Branch
(To see how to make the pretty felt pinecone ornament on the left, see my tutorial at Pastels and Macarons).
6. Display Them In A Glass Dome or Cloche
When it comes to displaying ornaments around the home, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many ways to maximize your growing collection, especially if you don’t have a tree. So how about you? What are your favourite ways to display Christmas ornaments around your home? Send me your pics on my facebook page. I’d love to see them!
Happy decorating 🙂

December 8, 2016 at 1:04 pmI love the idea of using ornaments to decorate something other than the tree! Like you, I find that I have way more ornaments than will ever fit on our tree, so I’m always looking for creative uses for them. These are such neat ways to decorate with them!
