If you’re looking for an easy and elegant wreath idea for your home this season, then you’re going to love today’s tutorial. It’s a quick and easy DIY minimalist eucalyptus wreath. In fact, I think it’s one of the simplest DIYs I’ve shared here on the blog!

SUPPLIES NEEDED
- One Preserved Eucalyptus Stem (either preserved or artificial are suitable). I purchased my preserved stem at Michaels.
- Metal Ring (mine is a 9-inch ring, also purchased at Michaels)
- 20-22 Gauge Crafting Wire
- Scissors (but only if your crafting wire is very thin and won’t damage your scissors!) or Wire Clippers
- Optional: Crafting Twine (not pictured)
DIY MINIMALIST EUCALYPTUS WREATH
If you are using preserved eucalyptus – as I am for this tutorial – then all you need is one stem. Eucalyptus stems are thick and flexible, so you’ll be able to bend your stem – carefully – around the ring. If you are using faux eucalyptus make sure to purchase the flexible kind.
First, attach the crafting wire to one end of your metal ring, wrapping around a few times.
Next, place the bottom tip of the stem (the thickest portion) on the metal ring where you’ve just attached the crafting wire.
Wrap the crafting wire around BOTH the stem AND metal ring to attach the stem.
Snip off the wire.
Finish wrapping the wire around both stem and ring.
Repeat the process every few inches, finding empty spaces between the leaves.
At some point, you can begin bending the stem gently, matching the shape of the metal ring.
As before, attach the craft wire to the ring to secure it, then attach the stem to ring.
Continue bending the main stem gently and attaching as many times as necessary.
Tip: Only attach the main/central stem, leaving the smaller stems near the tip to hang naturally.
The number of attachments will vary from project to project, but for this small metal ring, I attached my stem to the ring in five separate spots.
Leave as is or add a twine hanger at the top.
Now you’re ready to hang this elegant DIY minimalist eucalyptus wreath!
I added mine to our builder-basic guest bathroom in order to give it a much-needed hit of personality.
I hope you enjoyed today’s simple and natural wreath craft.
Happy wreath-making!
