Nature crafts are one of my favourite ways to bring the outdoors in. Whether your home is modern and minimal or straight-up farmhouse, incorporating nature into your home really adds a lively and unexpected twist to your decor. Don’t ya think? And it doesn’t take much. Take these DIY twig triangle wreaths that I’m sharing with you today. They are simple to create and it took me only 5 minutes to make just one. So, I just had to make one more 🙂 The pair of them look great together in my craft room and they add a lovely rustic charm in that space.

DIY Twig Triangle Wreaths – MATERIALS NEEDED
- Twigs (like these ones); mine were birch branches, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Flowers (real or faux)
- Wire clippers
- Scissors
- Jute twine
- Rubber bands (4 per wreath)
DIY Twig Triangle Wreaths – THE STEPS
STEP 1: Clip Twigs To Size
Taking your wire clippers, clip your twigs to size, ensuring that all 3 are the same length.
STEP 2: Attach Twigs
Place the twigs in the configuration that you’d like.
Taking two of the tips in your hands, wrap a rubber band around several times.
Do the same for the other two corners.
Next, cut 3 pieces of jute twine.
Start by wrapping the jute twine around the top tip of the triangle, covering the rubber band, and tie a double knot on the back side.
Create a loop with the two ends by tying an overhand knot. This will allow you to hang your wreath later on.
Wrap the remaining two corners with jute twine. Tie a double knot on the back of each. You should now have a complete wreath form.
STEP 3: Collect & Attach Flowers
Create a mini bouquet or boutonniere by layering in the flowers you’d like to use.
Start with a base – any base.
Add a second layer.
Here’s my third layer.
And, finally, my top layer.
Here’s the final mini bouquet I chose for my DIY twig triangle wreath.
Attach the pieces together with a rubber band.
Position your flowers along the bottom of the wreath form.
Flip the wreath and flowers over and attach using jute twine, securing with a double knot.
Add one more knot somewhere in the middle so that the bouquet is attached securely to the twig.
Snip off the excess twine, then flip the wreath back, right side up. It should look something like this:
Rinse & Repeat!
Make as many DIY twig triangle wreaths as you’d like 🙂 I created two.
STEP 4: Ready for display
Now you’re ready to hang your DIY twig triangle wreaths anywhere in your home.
Hang them on doorknobs, on the front door, on a wall, a bookcase or incorporate into a fun gallery wall display. The sky’s the limit, as they say, with these beauties.
I decided to hang them up in my new craft room.
Hope this has sparked some creative ideas for you as you explore the inspiring world of nature crafts 🙂
Happy crafting 🙂

April 24, 2019 at 9:53 pmI love nature crafts, too, Lisa. It’s a fun way to create things without spending a ton on supplies. I happen to have all of these materials in my craft and decor stash (including the bird branches). I love it when a craft comes together like this – easy, quick, and inexpensive, too 🙂

April 24, 2019 at 9:51 pmThanks Irena! I love experimenting with wreaths, including their shape. Square, triangle, round and everything goes when I’m looking to change things up. But, when they’re this quick to make? Well, it was a no-brainer to make more than one 🙂
