Although decorating is a fun process for me, it’s sometimes a rather slow one. I tend to fret over a lot of details. Anyone else the same way? And while it can be fun to re-imagine a space at a slower pace, when it comes to creating vignettes and pretty DIY decor, I much prefer quick and easy. So when I purchased this really cool, 3-footed planter, I wanted to display it somewhere in my home right away! Seeing that necessity is the mother of invention 🙂 I saw my way to accomplishing that goal. Today, I’m sharing the results: this easy 5-minute faux succulent arrangement.

MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE THIS ARRANGEMENT
- faux succulents (like these ones or these ones)
- planter (like these darling planters here, here and here)
- if needed:Â wire cutters
HOW TO CREATE AN EASY 5-MINUTE FAUX SUCCULENT ARRANGEMENT
Arranging succulents, like flower arranging, often starts with the largest pieces first. Taking your largest succulent, add it to the planter. If needed, take a pair of wire cutters. Mine were easy to bend, so that’s all I needed to do.
Next, take the second largest succulent. In this case, I grouped a pair of succulents together for greater impact.
Move onto the next sizes, until you complete the arrangement and cover the entire top of the planter.
And, voila! Now, you’ve got a sweet succulent arrangement that you can display anywhere in your home.
Or add some bobbles and some decor around it for a chic, layered look. Any way you slice it, this is one of the easiest and budget-friendly, DIY decor projects you can do at home.
In actual fact, this easy 5-minute faux succulent arrangement took just 1 minute to create (and 4 minutes to fret over the actual arrangement 🙂 ).
3 Tips For Creating Your Own Easy 5-Minute Faux Succulent Arrangement
- Fill Your Planter:Â For this to work, make sure to have enough succulents to completely cover the top of the planter. Otherwise, there will be a lot of ‘bald’ spots.
- Variety of Sizes:Â Choose a variety of sizes, both in width and in height for visual interest.
- Largest to Smallest:Â It’s far easier to start with your largest/widest pieces and then fill the rest with the smaller items. It’s the large pieces that create balance throughout the arrangement.
Take some of the fuss out of decorating your home with easy projects like this simple succulent arrangement. It’s the perfect project for the busy gal at home 🙂
Happy decorating 🙂

April 9, 2018 at 7:33 amThat looks so lovely Jelica. The geometric shapes on the planter are such a perfect backdrop for succulents too. I have to admit I also tend to over think myself when trying to create a pleasing vignette. It always seems to look odd or as if something is missing. This little arrangement is just right

April 9, 2018 at 7:15 pmI’m glad I’m not the only one, Michelle. Over-thinking things seems to be my Achilles heel 😉 I’ve since moved one of the pieces up a bit to add height – silly me! Ah well, it keeps me out of trouble 😉 Take care my friend!
