There are so many reasons to love fall: crisp mornings, the sound of leaves under foot, rust colours, chunky throw blankets, plaid patterns (anywhere and everywhere 🙂 ), scented candles, pumpkin spice lattes, and, of course, fall crafts. I enjoy any and all DIYs related to fall, but one of my favourite ways to celebrate autumn is with a fall wreath on my front door. Nothing says ‘welcome fall’ quite like a wreath. So today I thought I’d share this lush & beautiful faux foraged fall wreath DIY video tutorial.
Whenever the temperatures begin to change from one season to the next, my internal crafter self tunes into the fact that a new wreath must be created!
I can’t help it. I’ve always been a little wreath-obsessed. You can probably see that from all the wreath projects I’ve shared since the start of this blog.
Some of my personal favourites are this Boxwood Wreath, this Pretty Pinecone Wreath, this Pretty Vintage Floral Wreath, and this Faux Wildflower Wreath.
But, then again, nearly every wreath I make becomes the ‘new favourite’ (shhh! don’t tell the others 😉 ), including the one I’m sharing with you today.
This foraged fall wreath DIY was so much fun to plan and create. I purchased all the greenery and the florals from Michaels – and, while realistic, nearly every piece used to create this wreath is not real, but faux.
It’s truly remarkable just how far faux materials have come!
I think even Burger the Cat had his suspicions about the materials on this wreath. He was not sniffing or nibbling on any of the leaves – a tell-tale sign that even he knew what the deal was!
MATERIALS NEEDED: Foraged Fall Wreath DIY
To make your own faux foraged fall wreath, you’ll need the supplies listed below (the following contains affiliate links at no extra cost. See my full disclosure policy here):
- Grapevine wreath, like these ones (I used a 12 inch, but 12-18 inches are a good size for most front doors).
- Wire clippers (like this one or this one)
- Faux foliage & faux flowers of your choice

October 19, 2018 at 2:05 pmYou’re too kind! But, I bet there’s a crafter waiting to come out somewhere in there: Just follow along with the video and copy me as I go along. When I’m trying something new, I often start by following along a tutorial step by step. Eventually, you’ll get the hang of it 🙂

October 19, 2018 at 1:56 pmThanks so much Katrin. Experimenting with all those different greens and then incorporating the colours was so much fun for me. I hadn’t created a piece quite like it, but it’s addicting 🙂
