So I was wandering through my local discounted home goods store last week, hoping to add some final touches to my fall living room decor, when I suddenly found myself thrust into the glitz and glam of Christmas. There was no escaping the red, green, and metallics, and all that comes with that season. Now I am no Scrooge, but it’s only mid-October folks! And I am still trying to enjoy the current season. Rather than turning around, I took my little shopping cart and wandered…and wandered, hoping to find a remnant of autumn. Like a thirsty wanderer looking for her oasis, I finally found a small display of fall decor – half off the already half off original price – woo-hoo! I bought a wreath (the one pictured above) and then found a couple of other season-bending items to finish off my fall decor. I just love end-of-season deals – don’t you? And best of all, I could now count my fall living room displays complete and ready to share with all of you lovely readers.
Come on in and take a little tour 🙂
For those of you who saw my Modern Rustic Fall Foyer or my Pretty Pine Cone Wreath DIY, you would have noticed my penchant for pops of yellow to usher in the season. Not much is different in my living room, where I used that colour palette throughout.
This sweet little candle with the squirrel on it was a must next to the shed antlers. So adorable!
At the opposite end of the TV stand is another woodland creature motif created out of found objects around my home. The basket below also got a hint of the outdoors with a small, whitewashed branch detail.
The couch in front of our picture window got a bit of love too with a fur throw along the back, a soft tassel throw on the arm, and rust-coloured bird pillow.
Our other couch received a similar treatment with a fur throw on the back, a soft throw on the arm and a few pillows (one of which was the striped boho-inspired DIY Woven Pillow that I blogged about earlier this year).
(If you missed it, check out how to make this striped woven pillow here).
Our coffee table also has hints of the season with a white and gold pumpkin and small gold antler integrated into the decor.
And, finally, just opposite the coffee table are two comfy chairs with fur throws and a couple of outdoor-inspired pillows with a bowl full of fresh-scented pinecones between them to complete the vignette.
I hope you enjoyed our fall living room tour. It was so much fun putting it all together. Even though all the stores seem determined to race ahead towards Christmas, I for one will enjoy autumn for as long as I can 🙂

October 21, 2016 at 3:17 pmThanks Maria 🙂 You’re soooooo sweet 🙂 The cotton wreath was a purchase at a store called ‘Home Sense,’ – but if you do a search online, there are loads of them. This looks like the one I have – currently out of stock – (http://www.shopterrain.com/product/dried-cotton-wreath-19). But there are lots of others online to choose from – or to DIY 🙂 Have a great weekend!
