I know that in today’s blog post I’ll be preaching to the choir! But, really, who doesn’t like a bit of style talk that’s practical, too? That’s why I’m sharing some of my favourite ways to achieve easy, natural style using woven storage baskets. Read on for some simple style inspiration!

Easy, Natural Style Using Woven Storage Baskets
I’ve been obsessed with organizing various parts of our home these past several months.
Whether it’s our guest bedroom, dining room, craft room, or foyer, it all comes down to the same thing: creating order out of disorder, and style out of a ‘ho-hum’ space.
One of the ways that I’ve always loved adding a bit of organized style is by using storage baskets, especially natural, woven baskets. These are essential for me when it comes to adding a heavy does of warmth at home.
Here are just three spaces in my home where these natural beauties never fail to deliver!
Great Room Baskets
Recently, I shared some updates we’d made to our Great Room. While our latest additions have elevated our space, the constants – baskets included – are what keep our space feeling warm and grounded.
This round, beachcomber style basket (you can find a similar one here) was one of the first accessories I purchased when we moved into our home. It’s gone through various style metamorphoses over the years, but it’s been one of my favourite features here.
Adding warmth, however, doesn’t mean you have to stick to browns or beiges. Not at all! The charcoal grey basket below (you can find a similar one here) ‘stores’ our faux fiddle leaf plant and adds as much warmth as any natural-tone variety.
(This black basket at IKEA is also a real beauty!)
Next to our couch is one of my favourite IKEA storage baskets.
This basket solved so many of my organizing problems in the living room, allowing me to store several items, including magazines, a kleenex box, and our remote control storage box.
By adding a folded throw blanket, I softened the look and kept the area neat and tidy.
And while I haven’t seen this particular basket online in ages, IKEA has so many other affordable alternatives.
Craft Room Baskets
While much of my craft room is light and bright, it’s also punctuated with loads of warmth here where I create my fibre art pieces.
Every one of the baskets in this space – from the round ones at the top end of each bookcase to the baskets on the floor (far left) to the square basket sitting on one of the shelves (right side) – offer both form and function.
All – except the square basket – were thrift store finds! When I need to be mobile, I just toss my yarn and crafting tools into one of the baskets and craft at my kitchen table for a change of scenery.
Foyer Closet Baskets
Finally, I thought I’d share a spot you don’t often see here on the blog: the foyer closet.
A while back, however, I did share a post about my No-Cost Closet Organization in Under an Hour which featured this very closet.
I can honestly say that it has hardly changed since having organized it way back then! With everything having a ‘home’ it’s been incredibly easy to keep this area stylish and organized. The baskets are from IKEA (the “Branas” line) and while I only ever see the large versions online, I’m sure the smaller ones are still available.
These are just some of my favourite ways of achieving easy, natural style using woven storage baskets. I love to see how others organize their spaces and keep things stylish in their own homes, so I hope you enjoyed today’s post!
Happy organizing!
