I’m popping in this week to share my and hubby’s 20 Amazon Home Must-Haves. These products don’t often get showcased on the blog, so I’m giving them the spotlight here. It’s a mix of functionality, convenience, and some beauty, too.

20 AMAZON HOME MUST-HAVES (OUR LIST)
It wasn’t until I created my own, personal list of Amazon home must-haves that it occurred to me that it was not entirely balanced. While I appreciate certain types of products, my husband’s idea of a ‘must-have’ is, often, very different from my own.
So, I invited him to share some of his Amazon home must-haves with me. I loved his list so much that I ditched some of my picks to make room for his, in this combined list.
So here is OUR LIST of Amazon home must-haves, in no particular order:
1. TP-Link Deco Wifi Extenders
Once hubby and I began working from home, setting up two different work spaces that function well was a high priority. While my office space is in my craft room, located in the basement, his office is on the main floor. Boosting the range of our wifi network was absolutely essential.
Although there are lots of wife extenders on the market, we personally own these tp link wifi boosters and have 4 placed around the house, including this one (pictured above) at my desk.
Prior to adding these boosters, the basement wifi was ‘iffy,’ but since adding them, we’ve never had a problem. As hubby puts it, “This system solved our wifi connectivity issues and were simple to set up.”
You also have the option of plugging in an ethernet cable (pictured below) just in case you need it.
BONUS: These particular wifi boosters happen to be Amazon-certified and work with Alexa.
By far, one of our best purchases for the home.
2. Foldable Step Stool
If you have areas of your home that are SLIGHTLY out of reach – the top of your pantry, closet, or storage – this small, foldable step stool may just be the thing to help.
Although this type of stool is often marketed as a child’s step stool, mine (and others like it) can often hold a lot of weight – this one holds up to 300 Ibs.
It’s an easy way to tidy or reach for items just out of reach. And when you’re done, just fold it up and tuck it away. My stool hardly takes up any space in our linen closet.
Since purchasing it, retrieving and putting away those out-of-reach items is that much easier now.
3. Deluxe Ornament Storage Box
Some of you may have watched my Instagram stories where I shared how I store my Christmas supplies. I use old cardboard boxes, Amazon delivery boxes, and anything that is stackable. But when it comes to my Christmas ornaments (of which I have a lot), I needed to ‘bite the bullet’ and purchase something that could store everything in one versatile container.
This is it! I searched high and low to find it and love these features:
Large Pockets
4-inch Compartments for Ornaments
Unlike your typical ornament storage boxes which store ornaments up to 3 inches, this one has extra-large components for those of us who have ornaments of various sizes – up to 4 inches – with 72 components in total.
This one storage container holds ALL of my ornaments along with miscellaneous items that I can place in all those pockets.
NOTE: If you’re shopping at any other time of year other than Christmas, it can get pricey!
Sometimes, you can find it elsewhere like at Home Depot (look for the brand “Treekeeper”).
(Here is a similar one (if not nearly identical) that also holds 72 ornaments, each up to 4 inches.)
4. Battery Charger for Multiple Size Batteries
Until meeting my husband, I had never owned a single rechargeable battery. I’m sure I’ve gone through more batteries than I care to admit 🙁 But now we have several rechargeable ones in different sizes for various household uses so this all-in-one charger is essential.
As hubby puts it, “this battery charger is able to recondition rechargeable batteries to maximize their lifespan” for all different sizes from triple A batteries and beyond. A definite cost-saver for us.
(If this one is not available there are plenty of others to choose from).
And, of course, don’t forget to keep track of which batteries need charging and which ones are all charged-up:
5. Small Storage Caddy (2-Pack)
As someone who does not like visual clutter, I struggled for a long time with the idea of keeping all of our day-to-day toiletries out on the bathroom sink.
That is, until I decided to purchase some plastic storage caddies with handles. I now store all my day-to-day items in one caddy and store my lesser-used items in the other. These caddies are small enough to be tucked away, under the sink. No more visual clutter on my counter!
I love them so much that I now have 3 caddies with plans to purchase ones for our kitchen and craft room, too.
6. Whip-It Carpet Stain Remover
I’ve been using this carpet stain remover for a few years now and really love it. I’ve actually used it on our carpets MULTIPLE times and mainly because of the number of times our cats have coughed up an ooey-gooey, hairball 🙁
It is truly a miracle-cleaner, not only because it removes the stain easily, but it’s also non-toxic, pet-friendly, environmentally-friendly, and a multi-purpose stain remover, too.
But let me show you how it works, in action, below (cleaned in just under 2 minutes):
- Residue left after cat hairball vomit 🙁 (The previous day!)
- Saturate stain.
- Wait 1-2 minutes
- Blot stain with terry cloth.
- Starting to work!
- Rub stain with terry cloth.
This is what the carpet looks like, 2 minutes later:
7. Fabric Storage Cubes
For those of you who watched my “Organize My Craft Room/Office With Me” on my YouTube channel, you would have seen these fantastic storage cubes.
I have a mix of IKEA fabric storage plus these other ones with handles (slightly less expensive, too). While they fit perfectly in the IKEA Kallax Cube shelving systems, they’re also great storage cubes for clothing, linen, toys, and more.
8. Mini Vacuum Attachment
We use our central vac for every nook and cranny in the house. And while we have various attachments, this mini vac attachment was a recent purchase – and one that’s kitty-approved 🙂
Why we like it: It’s small enough to use on our stairs AND it has spinning bristles that can pick up more than our standard mini vac attachment ever did.
With this new attachment, it makes vacuuming the stairs (often, a chore for hubby) much easier!
9. Large Capacity Metal Litter Scoop
Not sure if this is a TMI type of item (you be the judge), but I thought my fellow cat-owners would appreciate this one 😻
We have had cats in our lives for nearly 20 years now and, until a couple of years ago, we had never thought to upgrade our humble, plastic litter scoops, often purchased at the grocery store.
As a result, we’ve gone through a few scoopers over the years that were less than ideal, often with too much flex in the handle, not enough capacity, and just plain crummy and easy to break.
Not only is this large metal litter scoop rigid and larger than your average scoop, but the handle is ergonomically comfortable, making scooping easier and better in the long-run.
10. Plastic Storage Baskets (6-Pack)
I began purchasing these 6-packs of plastic storage baskets (you can see 12 in use above) a couple of years ago. They are the perfect size for our kitchen, pantry, and laundry room, too.
They are great for any space where a little extra sorting is needed. I use them here to sort all my vitamins, teas, and other kitchen supplies.
I also love these smaller ones with the little handles on the ends.
11. External Wall Faucet
When we first moved into our house, we had all the ‘builder basics’ that made it move-in ready. Over time, we’ve made some upgrades. Some pretty and practical and others durable and good for the long-haul.
This includes this external wall faucet (on Amazon US and Amazon Canada) that has my husband’s stamp of approval.
According to hubby: “I replaced all of the external faucets on the house with these. They are a good quality, solid product.”
Some key features:
- 3/4″ male hose thread nozzle – Stainless steel seat – eliminates wire draw
- Standard “O” size seat washer
- Powder-coated, die cast aluminum handle
- Adjustable polycarbonate wall flange
12. Versatile & Re-usable Lint Remover
As a pet-owner and as someone whose clothes attract a lot of lint in general, I found myself going through rolls and rolls of disposable lint cleaners.
After watching some of my favourite fashion YouTubers who took pride in extending the life of their clothing, I noticed one thing they had in common: a non-disposable tool to remove lint and pilling on their shirts and sweaters.
So I went ahead and purchased this Gleener lint remover – an “Amazon’s choice” product – and am happy to say that not only have I used it on my clothes, but on my pillow cases and fabric furniture, too.
It comes with 3 attachments, depending on the type of fabric you are using it on.
And you can use the soft ‘brush’ on the end to pick up lint and hair, too.
A great, affordable tool that I’ve been using for the past year and highly recommend.
13. LED Garage Lights
Lighting in most garages is always an issue. And with hubby, who is often working at his workbench or vacuuming the vehicles there, having good lighting to work in was a must.
Eventually, my husband came across these affordable LED garage lights on Amazon. The set-up was easy, too. According to hubby, “these lights made a big difference in the garage and were easy to install.”
Here is one set turned off (pictured below, left) and then turned on (pictured below, right). Even though I took this photo during the day with some natural light streaming inside, you can see that these lights really light things up in our garage quite well.
14. Vileda (O-Cedar) Spin Mop
I’ve had all sorts of mops from traditional sponge mops to spaghetti mops, and everything in between. But one of my new favourites has got to be this Vileda Spin Mop (Amazon Canada) (marketed in the US as the O-Cedar Spin Mop).
The key feature: A foot petal operated spin mop that wrings the mop head out easily.
Here are some of my favourite features:
- great on wood, ceramic, vinyl and most floors
- small microfiber mop head makes it easy to get into small corners and spaces
- easy to clean – just toss into your washer! (love that)
- extendable pole – easy storing
It’s also lightweight and so easy to use. Definitely a great purchase at an affordable price.
15. Handy Press Mini Iron
This one is for the crafters out there. If you have been struggling to iron out those small little nooks and crannies of your fibre or fabric craft projects, then this mini iron may just be what you’re looking for.
Check out how small it is next to this standard size iron.
It’s the perfect addition to anyone’s craft room or sewing room and is the perfect size to use on embroidery, applique, quilting projects, and more. It’s also a great little travel iron, too.
16. Stackable 3-Tier Sliding Basket Organizer
I purchased these 3-tier sliding basket storage towers for use under our bathroom sink – a ‘his’ and ‘hers’ storage spot for our toiletries and other essentials. These are a good size when space is limited under a bathroom or kitchen sink. Each tower has a relatively narrow profile that maximizes vertical space.
We’ve been using ours in our ensuite for the past year. The top two baskets are shallow, while the bottom baskets are a bit deeper.
One feature I appreciate is the shelf along the top that allows me to place additional baskets where I store my curling iron, flat iron, brushes and more!
17. Portable Pressure Washer
This pressure washer is one of my husband’s favourite purchases and I remember when he first used it. He was really pleased with the product and it’s served us well these past couple of years.
Unfortunately, it’s stored away this winter, so there are no action shots of hubby (perhaps another time). But, according to my husband: “This pressure washer is portable and provides good pressure for washing vehicles, decks and other items.”
He also purchased this attachment to go with it:
Hubby says: “This foam cannon is able to work with my lower pressure electric pressure washer and speeds up the process of washing the car.”
A winning combination for hubby.
18. WORX Drill & Impact Driver (Combo Kit)
A few years ago, I was gifted a WORX cordless 2-in-1 saw. Hubby and I did a review, a demonstration, and even a DIY project in which we installed a pet door in our basement with it.
You can check out the review and demonstration here.
Needless to say, my husband was impressed enough with the brand that he also purchased this WORX combo kit two years ago (the drill and impact driver, pictured above).
Hubby says: “These tools are light duty, but get the job done around the house. The batteries last a long time between charges, even with heavy use.”
19. Fabric-Covered Wood Bed Support Slats
I prefer a firm mattress, but hubby does not. When we purchased our bed, it was a compromise, somewhere in the range of a ‘sorta’ ‘kinda’ soft bed 😉
But lately, I’d been having trouble sleeping on it as it was starting to feel softer as time went on.
So hubby looked online and found these fabulous fabric-covered wood bed support slats, intended for a twin mattress, that we placed under my side of the bed.
And, voila! I finally have a firmer mattress. Now he has the comfort of a softer bed and I have a far more comfortable sleep 😴
20. Magnetic Tear-Away Fridge Calendar
It took me a long time to find what is for me the perfect fridge calendar.
Why so long? Most magnetic fridge calendars these days are over-sized and dry-erase ones. Not for me. This particular magnetic fridge calendar (by the brand “Bright Day”) contains 16 months and has other features that I personally love:
- tear-away pages once you start a new month
- not so big that it takes up too much space – it’s 8” X 10”
- enough space to write notes on each day of the month
- thick paper that won’t bleed through
- minimal, yet colourful options to choose from that aren’t too garish – blends in easily with most home styles
So this ends our 20 Amazon home must-haves. Not an exhaustive list by any means (we purchase a LOT from Amazon!), so if you like this post, let me know, and I’ll share more of our favourites. We’ve got lots of home organization, decor, and gadgets that make life a lot easier at home 🙂

January 28, 2022 at 12:45 pmThanks so much Jelica! I’ve been looking for some storage ideas so I’m going to look into a couple of your basket and bin ideas. And I LOVE that lent brush!! I love that it comes with the tools to remove fuzz from acrylic sweaters. Will definitely be looking into getting one of those. I always really appreciate when you include the link to the item so I can see cost, colors, size, etc. Makes shopping much easier for me….maybe a little too easy! Another great post!
