It’s become somewhat of a tradition on this blog to see which topics were of greatest interest to all of you lovely readers during the year.
A kind of ‘top hits’ list.
Some posts on this year’s list will come as no surprise for fans of fiber crafts, while some are a pleasant surprise, for me at least. But, as always, there’s a wonderful mix of crafts, decor, and DIY ideas that are well worth checking out, in case you missed them.

#10.) Christmas Craft Ideas That Require Minimal Supplies (mostly!)
The words ‘crafting’ and ‘Christmas’ are virtually synonymous with many. But let’s face it, we don’t always have a lot of time for it. That’s why I wanted to share a post with projects that used a short list of supplies, yet still offered beautiful results for the holiday season.

As a fan of wreath-making, I’m always so pleased to know that others want to learn more about making a wreath at home. As wreaths become pricier and pricier, making one at home is always a great alternative, especially if you can re-use it each season with just a few small tweaks.

This was definitely one of the surprises on this list, at least for me. It was a bit of an experiment born out of trial and error. But I think one of the reasons it resonated so much was that it was an inexpensive approach to creating something minimal and elegant, too.

I love it when I can flex my DIY muscles (as small as they are) to share some very basic home projects that help elevate a space for very little. This installation of a couple of basic shelves was the perfect DIY to give our builder basic bathroom a bit of pizzazz.

I never know if a beginner-level DIY – from a beginner, no less – will be of any value to readers, but this one seemed to resonate with many. There was definitely a learning curve for me and I was eager to share all that I had learned before and during the process.

While it would be nice to hire a professional every time you had a design dilemma, it’s neither practical nor affordable. That’s why I wanted to share some of what I’d learned from my favourite designers and from experimenting at home over the years. As a visual learner, I cannot think of a better way to learn the basics of macrame than through video instruction. This is the perfect beginner-intermediate lesson to add a little interest in your macrame designs.

With all that’s out there about frame loom weaving, I’m always surprised to find very little exists about handling those ‘snags’ you inevitably encounter along the way. That’s why I wanted to share some basic tips for weavers at all levels, but especially for beginners. It’s information that I wish someone had shared with me when I first started!

These products offer a mix of functionality, convenience, and some beauty, too, but don’t often get featured on the blog.
