Hey friends! Today’s post is a two-part reveal: A Pretty Fix’s new look + the Blog Reader Survey Results (they’re in!).
A Pretty Fix: The New Look
So, what gives? I thought it was high time that the site got a fresh update. I hope you like it! It’s still pretty easy to navigate with all the key DIY links (in the main navigation menu) & Newsletter Sign-Up (located at the top). And, of course, you can still follow me on FaceBook, Twitter, and Pinterest, along with my NEW YouTube channel which came about, in part, as a result of the Blog Reader Survey some of you took recently (thank you!).
Speaking of which…
A Pretty Fix: Blog Reader Survey Results
Okay, so the results are in! Thanks so much to everyone who participated. Your feedback meant a lot – in fact, I was blown away by just how lovely and supportive everyone was! I’m definitely going to keep your feedback in mind as I create more content and develop the blog.
Now onto the results:
It looks like you really like craft tutorials (yay!) and that weaving and seasonal crafts are of particular interest. I hear you and I’ve got you covered! I will also be adding in more decorating and design posts along the way and I’m glad to see there’s a definite interest in that. And as with anything that appears on the blog, I’ll continue to stay in line with the brand, making crafts, DIY and decor accessible, affordable and fun.
The people have clearly spoken here! After seeing these results, I decided that my first order of business was to combine the most popular craft on the blog (weaving) with a video tutorial. For those of you who still haven’t seen it, you can check it out here on my NEW (!) YouTube Channel: Weaving Tutorial: The Woven Hemstitch Finish. I’ll be looking to upload 1 new video about every month or so. But, it will all depend on how quickly I grow in my video-making abilities – aaaaa!
As I sift through the above results in particular, a couple of items, including e-courses and e-books are definitely in the early stages of development, along with home goods, so stay tuned!
I had a lot of positive responses in the feedback section as well. Thank you – I appreciated hearing from so many of you, even if it was just to say ‘hi.’
In the final section, I asked you to ask me anything! I had one personal question for me and here it is:
How long have you been interested in crafts?
My answer: I’ve dipped my toe in and out of the crafting waters – so to speak – over the years, but it all started during my childhood. Among my earliest memories was learning basic hand crafts from my mother who was incredibly gifted in this regard. I learned everything from sewing to embroidery and just about anything in between. I stopped crafting, however, during my early adulthood, and it wasn’t until sometime in my thirties that I picked it up again and I haven’t looked back! I’ve even picked up a few new crafts along the way, including weaving (which I LOVE). And, of course, there are always a few others that I’m dying to try (and share) on the blog.
Thanks again for participating in the survey. If you’ve got more questions or comments, please feel free to share them in the comments below.
Until next time, ‘bye for now 🙂

November 13, 2017 at 6:27 amYay, I’m so glad you’re doing more video tutorials Jelica. You have such a soothing voice and the weaving one you did the other day was brilliant. It was beautifully shot and it made the hemstitch look so easy. I can’t wait to see more of those
