As soon as the fall season begins, I get a craving for pumpkin spice coffees, especially lattes. Doesn’t everyone? And while I often get them on my way to work, on weekends I don’t want to have to brave the cold to do it. This recipe for homemade pumpkin spice latte is the perfect substitute. It’s super easy and quick to make and is a delicious way to avoid the coffee shop lineups ;)
This recipe incorporates easy-to-find ingredients accessible at any grocery store. And best of all, it takes no more than 10 minutes to make!
————————————————————————————————————————–
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 2 servings
Latte Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk (coconut, soy or almond substitutes work just as well)
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
- 2-4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 & 1/4 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice blend* (plus more for serving)
- 1/2 cup dark roast/strong coffee (a strong coffee will balance the sweetness well)
- whipped cream
*Pumpkin Spice Blend Ingredients: Mix 1 & 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon with 1 & 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and a pinch of ground cloves.
Instructions:
Heat milk, pumpkin puree, and sugar on the stove over medium heat until hot. Whisk ingredients together. Do not bring to a boil, otherwise you may risk burning the milk.
Whisk in vanilla extract, spices, and coffee.
Serve in 2 mugs, topping each with whipped cream and a sprinkling of the pumpkin spice blend.

November 2, 2016 at 3:37 pmJelica I love this idea. We don’t have ready-made pumpkin puree so I’d have to make that and the pumpkin spices I’d have to make that oo, but I so want to try this awesome beverage.
