This week, I’m opening my home for my annual spring home tour with a focus on how I like to add simple, seasonal touches, without adding clutter.

Simple Spring Home Tour (Light, Fresh & Clutter-Free)
With the snow having recently melted here (it’s Canada, after all), we’re finally experiencing that gentle shift into spring. While I’d like to say it’s all about the birds chirping and green grass starting to emerge – which is true, no doubt – we’ve also had rain – lots and LOTS of rain.
Despite the seasonal downpour (which ALWAYS catches me off guard – ‘hello’ frizzy hair), I do love what this transition ultimately brings: warm days, the beauty of the outdoors and – yes – all the birds chirping, too.
With any seasonal shift, I like to reflect that in my interiors in soft and subtle ways. Nothing dramatic. Just a few small swaps and additions that refresh our home without adding clutter. I love a minimal, but warm feeling in my home without having to manage more ‘stuff.’
This year, I leaned into a calming palette of soft greens, pops of yellow, and a touch of red – just enough colour to feel like spring without overwhelming our otherwise neutral interior.
So come on in, and let me walk you through our simple spring home tour.
A Cheerful Front Door Wreath
Hanging on our front door – once again – is this DIY Lemon Wreath – the tutorial of which remains on the blog. And, honestly? I still love it.

I briefly considered making something new this year just for a change, but after spotting SEVERAL lemon wreaths in my local Home Sense store, I realized…why change a good thing?
It’s cheerful, it ties in perfectly with my spring colour palette, and it sets the tone before you even step inside our home.
Spring Foyer Touches
Our foyer has stayed mostly the same, as I shared in my recent Spring Foyer Refresh Tour on the blog. The only real update for spring was this fresh arrangement of tulips in soft red and it was enough to add a lot of life in our small foyer.

Ever since figuring out how to make cut tulips last longer (a total game changer), I’ve been enjoying – and gifting them – even more this season. They make such a simple but bold statement in our space.
I also incorporated a few ‘wearable decor’ pieces, like lightweight scarves and a straw hat, while keeping the rest of the space light, open, and uncluttered.

Great Room Spring Refresh: Living Room & Dining Room
We live in an open concept space which can be challenging to decorate. All areas have to be considered so each zone feels distinct yet still connected, but I think I’ve managed to do that even with this season’s refresh.
The first area that guests encounter is our living room space.

It’s where most of our everyday living happens, so I like to keep things balanced between style and function. This is especially true for our coffee table.

The table got a fresh burst of spring in the form of this faux yellow flower arrangement. I’ve used these florals before – on their own – and decided to give them an update this year by tucking in several leafy green stems.

This small tweak softens the yellow pop and adds movement, tying beautifully with the soft green tones I’ve used elsewhere in our space.
The rest of the table is pretty much unchanged. It’s layered but still pretty simple: books, a shallow bowl, coasters (LOTS of them) and – one of my favourite functional additions – a reversible punch needle mug rug I made several months back (I shared this tutorial on how to make a similar one).

It brings in soft greens and muted watery blues while also being really practical for everyday use.

On our sofas, I kept our neutral linen pillow covers, but made sure that there were some subtle colour pops of green and yellow to tie in with the rest of my spring update.

Across from our sofas and next to our TV, I placed 3 fresh tulips into this sage green ceramic vase. It’s a small detail that makes a connection to the same soft red tulips in our foyer by carrying that colour into our living room, too.

On the far end of our living room are my favourite sleek chairs. I kept the styling as before – why change a good thing? – but added a subtle pop of green with these DIY Moss-Covered Bowl Fillers tucked into this sleek black decorative bowl.

I love how organic and textured they look next to those sleek and angular chairs, bringing the outdoors inside in a soft and unexpected way.

Behind our chairs, the console table got a light refresh, too. I added these faux pussy willow stems that I’ve had for years and swapped out a couple of accessories. No bold colours. No dramatic details. Just warm, layered decor that grounds the area without drawing a lot of attention to it.

In the dining area of our great room, I leaned a little more into the ‘dramatic’ with these bold faux forsythia stems.

I’ve used them in past seasons (see similar ones here and here), but this time I bent and reshaped the stems to feel more lively – almost windblown. I love their architectural quality and how eye-catching they are while still complementing the other pops of yellow in our space.

Behind them, our buffet table got an extra bit of layering, but still nothing too dramatic. First, there is this small, playful addition: three red tulips. They add a bit of quirk and personality while calling back to the other tulips in the living room and foyer.

Next, I added another DIY reversible mug rug (you can find my step-by-step tutorial on the blog and on YouTube). It brings in pops of black, yellow, blue, and green, complementing the space while providing a practical place to rest my hot drinks as I sip and write – like I am with this blog post :).

The rest of the table has the usual array of my favourite pieces that stay on this table year after year, including a mix of black and white framed prints, a stack of books, and a DIY lamp. Sometimes, just one or two simple additions are all it takes to bring in a fresh touch of spring.

Final Thoughts
I hope this year’s spring home tour gave you a few ideas and inspiration for your own space, whether it’s a simple floral swap, a DIY project, or just rearranging what you already own.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you all the warmth, light, and fresh energy that spring brings.
Happy spring 🙂
