Next month, I’ll be celebrating 6 years of blogging here at A Pretty Fix – time flies! Over the years, I’ve done a variety of crafts and decor projects to add some zip and personality to my home (yes, I said zip ). But today, I’m sharing with you My Top 10 Mini Crafts from the blog archives that are still some of my absolute favourites!
TOP 10 MINI CRAFTS FROM A PRETTY FIX
While all my crafts are typically for the decor enthusiast, I’ve also created some that are kid-friendly, too. So if you’re looking for some craft activities to share with the kiddos, I hope you’ll find some that fits the skill level and interests of your little ones.
In no particular order, here are my favourites from the blog.
DIY Woven Coasters
Many of you have visited the blog to learn a thing or two about weaving – and I’m so honoured! This little pair was one of my early weaving tutorials created specifically for the beginner. Based on your response, it was an instant hit!
In case you are wondering: I STILL have them and – yes – I use them at my desk most days (including today, as I write this post 🙂 ).
DIY Mini Marbled Painted Pots
One of the first posts where I had to ask hubby to take a photo of both my hands to capture how I created the marbling effect (a lot of patience on both our parts was required here!). But we go through it (lol!) and the photos turned out really well, showing all the step-by-step details (you won’t believe how easy this one is!).
DIY Yarn-Wrapped Chain Bracelet
In the early days, I created a couple of jewelry crafts (who knew?) and this one stands out as a sentimental favourite.
It was a fun and easy way to use some scrap yarn and it captured the attention of another blogger who asked that I guest post on her blog for a time. Memories!
DIY Mini Macrame Wall Hanging (Using Just 1 Knot!)
This was the first macrame tutorial that I shared on the blog and it was one of the most popular on Pinterest (for my wee blog). Understandably so. It required mastering just 1 knot to create this beauty and should run you just 30 minutes to make.
DIY Air Dry Clay Christmas Ornaments, 5 Different Ways
This DIY made it into the top 10 of the year a few years back and no one was as surprised as I! Although I LOVED it, I hadn’t realized how much everyone appreciated all the options there were in this one simple method of creating ornaments.
DIY Modern, Minimalist Macrame Coasters (Video Tutorial)
This is my most recent macrame tutorial on my YouTube Channel (you can find the channel HERE) and utilizes just one knot to get these results. They were the perfect additions to our Great Room, going well with our neutral decor.
DIY Boho Macrame Coasters
These macrame coasters using just one knot (I see a theme happening!) are one of my absolute favourites and, as it turns, they were yours as well. I can’t tell you the number of times people have emailed or messaged or tagged me about these little beauties. And so easy to make!
DIY Raffia Wreath
I am such a fan of using raffia! I love the natural feel of it as well as the unpredictable nature of each strand. This wreath uses a small, 8-inch embroidery hoop as the base and evokes a lovely, outdoorsy feeling right in my craft room!
DIY Mini Air Dry Clay Pot
This little clay pot using air dry clay really ‘cemented’ my love of clay (pardon the pun!). I so enjoy all the possibilities of using this medium.
DIY Mini Framed Weaving
I was reminded of my framed weaving recently while exploring Instagram and just knew I HAD to include it on my list. To this day, I still love it and while it is currently being stored rather than displayed, it is a great model for other projects that I have ‘banging’ around in my head these days.
Enjoy!
BONUS ROUND!
There were a few others that I just couldn’t NOT mention (I had a hard time narrowing down the list!). Here they are, in no particular order:
DIY 5-Minute Twig Triangle Wreaths
DIY Half Moon Clay Hangers
DIY Chic & Crafty Painted Candles
(An oldy, but a goody)
Well, I hope you enjoyed this round-up of my top 10 mini crafts from the blog. I’ve enjoyed going back down memory lane to curate this list of some of my favourites from A Pretty Fix.

We talk about “presentation” when it comes to creating plates of food that look like art. I just want to say that your photo compositions have the same wow factor!

August 29, 2021 at 2:01 pmAwww, thank you for that! I am not a professional photographer by any means, but it means a lot to read that my experiments in photography are getting better. I do feel more comfortable with it each year. Now, if only I could get to that same level of comfort with my videos -argh! Working on it!
